Deep navy and rich ocean blues form the foundation of the piece, while sweeping layers of white, pale blue and turquoise flow dramatically across the composition. Tiny light details scattered through the darker areas create an almost celestial quality, suggesting distant stars above an energetic sea.
 
I wanted this artwork to capture the feeling of two immense natural forces meeting — sea and sky. The expressive movement can be interpreted as a powerful wave, shifting currents, clouds sweeping across the horizon or even a glimpse into something more otherworldly.
 
The contrast between the darker depths and luminous whites gives Celestial Force a strong sense of movement and light. Although dramatic, the predominantly blue palette also gives the piece a calming quality and a connection to the ocean that runs throughout much of my work.
